| | | I went to a nearby abandoned factory with a couple friends, sadly we chickened out. There were two cars outside, one a black SUV and the other a stretch limo with a camera. Sort of unsettling. There was also some construction work that started in 2006 with very little accomplished but there is an excavator and some other stuff around. Most of the area is surrounded with barbed wire bat around back there is a section without it. Any advice? [last edit 1/4/2012 10:50 PM by VariousInstances - edited 3 times]

| | | Based on the image I would say go for it if you get the opportunity and the vehicles are not present. It looks extremely easy to get over that fence, and I'm sure that's not the only way through the fence line. Do you have a definite POE in to the actual building? If you've scouted around and found an easy way in to the building then you should be golden. Since there is so much still there, there is always a chance that they could have motion detectors set up, but it's not likely, especially if they already have security vehicles watching the place. If you happen to set one off it doesn't look like it would be hard to get out of the area and once your through the fence you're good. So short answer: Go for it. Take some pics, tell us the story, and if it all goes flawlessly make some return trips! Oh, and welcome to UER.

Very much sorry. After the first response I was quite worried about causing other members grief and considering said response addressed most aspects of my post, I decided it wasn't worth it.

All you had to do was to edit the location details out of your post. Eliminating your post just pisses-off the mods. I can be a surly sonofabitch sometimes, don't take it too seriously bud...and welcome to UER.

| | | It's only natural to be nervous if you're new to the game. Fear, however, will prevent you from seeing a lot of great things. Be smart but be willing to take chances or you need to find something else to occupy your free time.

| | | A stretch limo with a camera? My first guess would be they're filming a TV show?

| | | Ohh boy. First rule of uer sadly, people will pick on you for no reason at all, don't take it personally. But I'd suggest going back and scouting more. Maybe take more friends - but not to the point where locals may consider you a threat... Make it clear why you are there If needed. (you're approached or confronted) otherwise, just stay low key. And for the love of uer, don't be a moron and demolish/vandalize anything... We don't take that well on here.

Someone's gotta escort him to the location to make sure he doesn't take a backhoe.
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

| | | I'm not worried about a backhoe - don't think he'll get very far with it... Then again, windows.. ah; good point.
