Looking to go exploring in St. Paul or Minneapolis tonight. Email Djembe_kid@yahoo.com or pm.

This is an ongoing thing. Need a second person, whatever, i'm available. Looking to get to know the secret places around.

Welcome to exploring. Are you a cop? Have you ever worked for law enforcement agencies before? If you aren't a cop, what got you interested in exploring?

I'm sure you're bright enough to realize there is a certain level of paranoia among our explorers (myself included) when it comes to new people, especially lately. You're not going to get information on "secret places" any time soon, at least not if you're dealing with legit explorers.

On the bright side, you could try to come to the monthly meetup (next week, date/time still in planning as of today). That will allow you to meet people in person. Meeting people, and even showing established explorers where YOU explore will give people a better feel for who you are, and how you are as an exploring companion.

Oh yeah, and I should also point out that "showing explorers where YOU explore" does NOT mean posting pictures and locations on these forums, photo sites, or elsewhere online. Publicizing locations hurts explorable spots and impresses nobody. Still, many new people constantly think it's the only way to go. But you can be ahead of the curve by not falling into that bad habit.

What I actually meant is that you should, in person, show stuff to explorers. Talk is cheap, and posting online is cheaper yet, but actions demonstrated first-hand always have value.

No, I'm not a cop. Just trying to get to know my city better. I've always liked exploring and just now thought to check online for what others are doing.

And to clarify, I wasn't asking for information, i was looking for people who would like to go out and see where i've been and maybe return the favor.

Peace and love.

Ya, i don't blame clockwork for jumping to conclusions. Read around the site to get a feel for the culture and to learn how to go about things. People see your new, and looking for all the things a cop would need to bust people... You can't blame people for being skeptical. Like clockwork said, go to meetups, that's the best way to find exploring buddies.

I'd be interested in attending a meet-up.

How are the meet-ups publicized?

Thanks!

I suppose i jumped the gun a bit. It's just I wanna go out but I don't wanna risk going alone in case something should go wrong. I saw a similar post and figured it's acceptable not thinking of how new i am here.

Peace and love.

1142?? Okay dude I'll be there! Exploring by yourself isn't so bad (i'd much prefer to share the adventure with a group/buddy) but the few times I've felt i'd never have another chance to check out a certain place I've gone it alone. It can be a great way to scout for locations, and when you've been somewhere before, you're friends who may not explore on the regular may be more likely to join you for a return trip. Have fun, our cities are awesome!

I wasn't trying to be too mean or harsh in my above post. I was just telling it like it is, and trying to be a little helpful. I hope that came across.

Our exploring community is pretty vast. It shouldn't be hard to find somebody to explore with. The public meetup is the best way to get to meet a large group of us. Mouser Week is coming up at the end of the month too, which has historically been the most accessible route for new explorers to connect with the group.

Nobody explores in the Twin Cities anymore. It's sooo old hat. We've moved on to creating our own UE sites for future generations to explore. ;)

Anyway, I SWEAR I'll make it out to one of the meetups someday soon...

I want to be different. But I want to be different just like everybody else, because if I really were different, everybody would think I was crazy and weird.
