central Texas location, train derailment happened in September.
Nothing in them, not a whole lot to see. About 10 cars left, they've already started taking them apart, and moved the other cars that were left. Tracks are still active, and bridge shows repairs to it.

Holy smokes!

That looks like a majorly cool spot!

Yes, thanks for sharing these.

There's something very strange about seeing rail cars on their sides.

It was very eerie. We have a deer lease in this town, so we were there fairly soon after it happened, but just now got around to climbing down to see it.

They were all empty, but had corn in them when it happened.

To your credit most threads around here are titled deceivingly, not this one!

Awesome find.

Nope, a real derailment. Newspaper article and YouTube video exist, but would give away the location, and I know that's frowned upon. If any one wants details, pm me. It took us 3 1/2 hours to get there.

nice thread... there was a derailment here in tulsa just east of the cherokee rail yard... i think it was just a few cars but they layed there for a while... it happened in the middle of a huge road construction zone too...
