| | | First off, HUGE props to 2xplorations for helping me find it, and finding it in the first place. Now then, this drain is AWESOME. It's a ROYAL P.I.T.A. to get into unless you like to swin in murky storm drain water, there was a large crowd of folks just staring at us as we clambered in. 1. This is the entrance.
2. For the first time, introducting ... My roommate, he had a screenname all picked out but I can't remember it and I really can't be bothered to text him
3. Drainy goodness
4. More drains
5. Yes, I crawled through it.
6. It got old, fast. The drain, not the drain. I mean, you know.
7. Soda straws!
8. Very interesting formations on the ceiling, too.
9. The elusive Captain Slow in the original Often inebriated adventures beanie and shirt. Just because you're special.
10. Yes, yes I am.
11. It lead to this chamber.
12. Too bad it caved in!
13. Then this happened
14. Then this
15. I love these formations.
16. I don't mean to be humble but god I'm sexy.
17. Next up, we came across this cooridor which is littered with old, old graffiti, lots of dates from October 1901.
18. "Oct. 1767." Somehow I doubt it, as Ft. Worth was founded in 1849.
19. Lots of names and dates, all of them from Oct. 1901
20. I instantly fell in love with these faces. Imagine, when the Titanic sank, they had been there for more than 10 years.
21. I miss the days when people graffiti-d in cursive.
22. More faces. "Emmett" this time.
23. James Danner, Oct 26, 1901
24. Here, we hit a pocket of VERY foul air. It REEKED of sulfer, and we both got light-headed and beat a hasty retreat.
25. Side note, these little red marks were everywhere. 2 rows of triangles pointing towards the drains that lead to the outfall, bars on the drains that led elsewhere. Any ideas?

| | | That's a great find... Thanks for sharing... And I'm sure most of the drainers on this board have at some point just bailed off into a drain in front of people... Surd and I climbed over a barbed wire fence by a busy intersection once to get to one...good times... Edit: autocorrect [last edit 11/6/2011 1:55 PM by CaJuN - edited 1 times]

| | | Those 1901 dates may be authentic. It actually looks like the handwriting style from that era. 2X, is this that drain that I went in with you an CN that night? I'm thinking it's probably not, but that last picture with the red marks looks like one spot we were in. Just curious.

| | | I remember reading once about some underground crypts in the DFW area. It was around the 1890's to 1920's(?) that a company tried to do an underground crypt system like in old Europe. Something about it did not make enough, or could not afford some new tax, and had to shut down. I wonder if those 1901 dates could have been part of that?

nope you Lil Rat me and Coffinail did the China Town drains
...
...and I agree the handwriting style is something that could be copied but it was in wet concrete that 'crete aint been wet for a long time we think it was the corner of a building foundation that juts into the drain Beaver Drain in Ft Worth is huge and about 10 times older parts of it more (gotta love that stone work) just like Rat Race Drain in Dallas theres some sections that follow old creeks that were covered up [last edit 11/7/2011 2:01 AM by Explorer Zero - edited 3 times]

| | | Gosh....does that girl have any self respect what so ever? jeez!!! She is like the nastiest person ever....well maybe there was another one but I am sure they were banned at some point. I have no patience for girls that degrade themselves so allow men to say things like that to them. UGH..
Show up at 9:30 with 15 dollars cash and your fingers crossed. <Mandias> I think she's gonna slug that cop. -------------------------------------------------------- <Axle> "She's just not a farmer Owen, she has too much of her Father in her." <Axle> Death by Hut |
