That is what I was thinking Weirdling. My 11 year old niece wanted to go with us yesterday but had to tell her no! Her response was, "Why can't I go?" I told her she had 7 more years before she could go with us because of the very slim chance (I know it would never happen) of getting caught and didn't want a child endangerment charge too.

Actually, have had the kids to the abandoned turnpike tunnels, though that's not exactly illegal.
Did drag my brother in law on a day trip to 3 sketchy sites - didn't even think about it till after that he could loose his job & just went so i wouldn't be alone =/

I need to get a dog.....sometimes it hard to fit an explore into everyones schedule and the dog would never tell me no. Also, I can't wait for my niece to turn legal age....she would be so much fun to take along.
I took my nephew (who is a cop in NC and was up here on vacation) and my sis on Wednesday. It was their first explore and they both LOVED it.

I remember when my mom n dad took me exploring for my 1st time. I was 8 yrs old and we did an abandoned theater/playhouse. The power was still hooked up so all the stage lighting, house lights, projectors, and concession equip. in the lobby all worked. We spent the whole day there by ourselves exploring, playing and goofin off on stage. It was one of the most incredible and inspiring days of my life. Before video games n TV sucked the life out of children, kids actually went outside and played. Rode our bikes to places we were not supposed to go, scraped up our elbows and knees playing war in the woods...not like today where Opera and Dr. Phil tell u to lock ur kids up from all the dangers of the world.. I hope u were kidding when u said how shocked u were.. And if u were not, lighten up man. Ur only a kid once. Its not like he took them to scale a crane or somethin.

Definitely just kidding, the pics were kids playing at the park when it was active ;)
Someday when I do have a kid/kids they'll be introduced at whatever appropriate age to start slow with this. I've been exploring with my girlfriend since day one and we've already got alot of stories worth telling even to the grandkids as is!

Oh yeah didnt see this post  Actually that place I was talking about is up in ur neck of the woods. Route 28 in Wolfboro.. Its a boat museum now, go figure..
