A not so Amish farm in Amish country

I was out by Westminster College a few weeks back and found this abandoned farm a few minutes from campus, it had a house and huge barn behind it also with a large piece of farming material along with a buggy that ironically had some sort of auto battery in it. The barn was kinda beat up, well it looked as so from the outside and with it being an extremely windy day as that day was i didn't head inside. The farm house was very old, it was a 2 story stone building with a slate roof and the 2nd story was more like a loft. The front was practically identical to back on the outside, it had two doors maybe 5 feet apart at most even though the house wasn't to separate parts. It was pretty empty inside with no furniture and had some normal stuff like old news paper dating up to about 2006, some phone books oddly enough in a oddly placed sink. There where some knick-knacks, like a little box with silk and a mirror but it had a tag tried to the handle with a very common first name and a very common Amish last name, actually the same as the Amish man selling food up the road who told us he believed the owners lived in North Carolina and it has been abandoned for a while. The only weird thing was a random Easter basket in the middle of the room and an extremely tall and large thing of Easter themed cloth propped up. It was pretty normal inside with some old windows and doors, an empty fire place and it was an off white color besides upstairs which was bright turquoise and purple. Besides the battery in buggy it screamed Amish besides when I found a TV cable and satellite dish on the side of the house. In all it was an interesting trip.
I apologize that this doesn't have any pictures, its on account that my regular camera is broken as it has been for a while now, I didn't have someone with me to take pictures and the fact even after buying a cable for my phone to hook it up to post my blurry camera phone pics doesn't work and i have to buy some other shit that probably doesn't work either.

UER needs a like button.

Also, a DIY paragraph kit.

I don't know if you've been paying attention to the national news, but it turns out all Amish people are liars.

The battery was for the tail lights.

I spent a full three weeks this summer on an Amish farm while working for their apple orchard. Genuinely friendly people.

They have to have a car battery in their buggy to power the lights that the law mandates them to have.
