A House on the water

This is a place I like to call, "The house on the water". A small little house that has been abandoned since I can remember. I used to look at the place when I was younger going on my buddy's boat calling it a pos. On Friday I decided to go over to my friends house, little did I know that my friend just moved in next door to the place, and I could not resit the urge to explore it. So we did. We didn't get any interior pictures, only exterior because there is a alarm and the police station is 100 yards away. There were also drunks across, well everywhere but mostly across from us yelling at us asking what we were doing and if we were with the city or the government and they decided to call the police so we darted out of there, yes the police actually did show up.

I don't know much about this place but I will tell you what I do know. I do know that the owner refuses to knock down the building even though it has be rated as uninhabitable by the city and investigators. The park right next door would like to buy the lot to demolish the building and expand the park over more. The owner has been seen sleeping at the property in a sleeping bag with a little light. Everyone dislikes the man because it is causing property value to decrease because of all the maintenance that is needed to keep the place up.

So after all my talking, if you did read it. Here are my pictures!

This was the last picture I snapped of the back before being yelled at by drunks. I have a cruddy pano of the front. I will post it later.

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

Sorry about that I will fix it, and I would probably live there too if it was fixed up.

Agreed, I would love to turn that house around and live in it. Great location from what I can see.

There are likely some major issues with it being on the canal. It looks shaky. The land is probably worth a quarter million and repairs would match it. Add nasty So Fla taxes and you're in a money pit.

As everyone said the house is nice and used to look beautiful but the owner let it go down hill, the property is worth a TON especially since it is on a main canal. The building itself is not structurally sound what so ever and has to be torn down. Maybe someday when I go back over we may try and get inside if there is no power and we can confirm there is no alarm without setting it off.

Thanks everyone
