You know I love running around with my clothes off. But in the first pic, I was red because it was hot. In the second photo, I had to take my shirt off because we had to use it to cover the hole that was letting light into the container. So, there was a reason for it...this time.

Me too. She really is one of the last of a breed. Some friends were able to board and photograph another ocean liner of the same vintage a few years ago in SF, before she (illegally) went to the ship breaking yards of Alang and broke her back. I'd hate to see the US suffer the same fate.

Nope, the SS United States Conservancy owns it - which is run by the granddaughter of the guy who designed the ship!
Holy crap that's terrible, and it was in such great shape too. Terrible!

Yes. All your photos are awesome. But we are losing a bridge very similar to this here. They are rare with the rail and vehicle sections separate. Ours was designed by Strauss, who did the Golden Gate. Yours likely too. City council is criminal to destroy it.
The rail part has already been demolished.
