Not your father’s O. D. Freight Line – but it is “old”

I’m guessing only a few will find interest in this… honestly, I’ve never considered myself a “truck” guy. But, I’ve gotta admin (-admit- an IT autotype spelling error!), I didn’t expect to find this vintage of vehicle tucked away in here, and found myself thinking, “Oh – cool!!”

My guess is they were auction purchases with intention to restore, as some had the title & other documents taped to the fenders. Guess they never got around to the restoration part of the project…

There is definitely a few worth spending some time and money on in there.

Is that an abandoned, or active site?

Good question… there was always a lot of activity a few years ago, but I haven’t seen anything going on there in a while.

Also, notice the curtains still in the windows of the sleeper cab of that old OTR truck.

Did you get to peek inside any of them?

Yeah, I don’t know why I was surprised by that – always thought of sleeper cabs as being “more modern” I guess.

No, was on a tight schedule, but plan on going back to look at the insides (esp. the sleepers), and not tick any one off in the process!

Awesome. I cant wait to see the insides.

I'd LOVE to restore an old truck like that with a sleeper cab. Id go to regular car shows just to grab all the attention!

I'm not into old trucks, but I'd love to check these out. Great photos.

Yep, like I said, never considered myself a “truck” guy, but I had to see the insides too.

I think I just like stuff older than me

You should have turned that thing over and revved the engine like a bad ass.

Looks like somebody's aborted truck restoration project.

As bad as that stuff looks, none of it appears beyond repair, but they're worth far more in scrap than they would be even if they were fully restored.

Kind of a strange market. Some trucks fully restored are worth only the scrap price and some that are unrestored are worth a fortune.

Definitely appear to be in good shape for their age.

The way these big trucks go and their value as restore projects is based on that particular model's history and rarity. The collectible ones usually have some "nickname".

Thanks for the 2nd visit and the update. Good stuff and great shots.

I love this thread. I'm not a "truck guy" myself, but vehicles in general and rusty machinery make me happy.

I uploaded these during lunch at work & it's the first time i've seen them at home...

...i'm hoping it's my monitor, but these look way over saturated.

Anyone else thinking that?

They look fine to me, but I'm not really the person to ask about editing photos.
