|  | | | Me and the hubby went out today and he took me to a place he found was on Dismal Swamp Canal....really cool my favorite of the day
then down the road we found this....I think it was once a auto repair place maybe?
then across the street from there was this broken bridge thing....
Across the hwy and across a field we saw this house we asked the property owner and he agreed to let us walk around and take photos but no going inside......
Driving around we stopped at this.....
then driving around some more and we came across this......
I had fun out today

| | | | Awesome! I've lived right off 17 for most of my life, and often go hiking or running down the Dismal Swamp Canal trail. Back in the actual park, there are lots of old rusting moonshine stills, some old cabins. Apparently in the late 1800's there was a spa and large resort on Lake Drummond, as the swamp waters were thought to have healing powers. I've driven down lots of trails in the Jeep on the west side of the canal, and taken a canoe out a few times, but never been able to find anything. It was neat to see this pictures as I've been to these locations but never taken any myself. Great stuff. If you're out this way again and need an exploring buddy, I'm around. A couple of us from UER are going out to the old Naval Communications base again tomorrow morning...

@ FatherTotem - pretty sure it was paint there was a open spilled bucket there but does add to it....lol
