Hi, My name is.....Ecto. I have been into draining and exploring old buildings since well forever. I am currently living in Minneapolis and looking to get more involved in the community. The biggest problem I have run into in this hobby is finding like minded people. I just moved back to Minnesota so i am still kind of out of the loop as far as locations and all that. One spot I have been scouting is the a local water park/hotel that was foreclosed on and now sits abandon. But so far it seems its locked up tight and with on site security so I have not attempted it... Anyways, If you are interested in adding a new person to your outings hit me up and we can arrange something. I have recently been reading up on the U-lands, I read the article on www.actionsquad.org and I think I need to go check that out. Anyways that's my into i guess.

Hi Ecto. We've been doing monthly-ish meetups in the Twin Cities, usually at restaurants and whatnot. We should have one next week if we can get it planned, but we're a little slow at planning.

Turn off the internet and go play outside.

There's nothing to explore in the Twin Cities and no huge community of poop-loving psychopaths with whom you can go exploring.

Since there are no places to visit or people to visit with, you should try to come to the monthly meetup this coming Tuesday (or is it Wednesday now???). Nonexistent people suck at planning shit anyways, so naturally no restaurant or meetup time has even been picked. At any rate, at whatever restaurant gets chosen, you can come and tell a bunch of empty seats all about the time you nearly got eaten by orbs in an abandoned farmhouse.

And seriously, if you want to get a feel for exploring around here, we have probably the greatest collection of long walkable drains with differing architectural styles in the country. Go find an outfall and go exploring. You'll be happy you did, and you'll feel accomplished for finding it yourself.

And then you can tell people at the meetup about your adventures running from orbs in a scary storm drain. Or something.

I mean, not to say you haven't already done a ton of drains and buildings anyways. What the hell do I know. I mean, you said at the beginning of your first post you've been into drains forever anyways. Maybe you already know all the helix drains and whatnot. I'm a noob and don't know anybody around here so I'm just clowning around.

In true seriousness though, come to Clocktoberfest 2011. Fuck yeah!

Clocktoberfest is only three weeks away, so I am continuing my promotion/pimping of it. It's located in Galena, Illinois, just across the river from Dubuque, Iowa. It's an open event campout/meetup for any explorers who want to go. Explorers from surrounding states usually come to this yearly event. It's about five hours drive from the Twin Cities. Here is the thread on the event http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=95070 and here is the event page itself: http://www.uer.ca/...nt.asp?eventid=602 .

There's nothing to explore in the Twin Cities

I've seen too many people lately say there's nothing to explore in the Twin Cities area.. obviously there is some sarcasm involved here but come on! To some of you who've been exploring Minnesota for a while there may not be too many places that are new to you but to a person who just moved here there is plenty to explore.

Ha, yeah I know there is some sarcasm there, plus i think people want to keep some of the cool places off the internet....yah know to insure they are there for the next person. As for the pic, yeah i need to figure out how people post pictures on here the right way, when i posted it said i had a limit of 100 px... i will have to mess with it later.

Obviously there was almost 100% sarcasm there. Please re-read what I stated about storm drains. We actually do have one of the best collections of large walkable drains in the country, and they all have unique characteristics and features making them worth visiting. Anything better than drains is best left undisclosed on UER. Private messages or in-person meetups are better for that shit.

Again, please refer to the sarcasm above. One is never enough, but we actually have a friggin' army of them. So many that there's actually a Mouser Week award for biggest lover of poop.

Damn I'm an idiot.. shit

I'm really not to sure why, but I've never actually got to explore any of the really cool drains you speak of or some of the cool tunnels and caves. For the most part I've just explored abandoned buildings and industrial areas. I'd be willing to take one of you uer vets somewhere if you could show me some cool underground stuff.
