image heavy - i know. but come on...ive never seen ANYTHING even close to a place like this. catandtie and i left out of quakertown around 6:30AM to meet HLGphotography and porcelain doll at the rendezvous point in jersey before heading out for the day. it was pouring rain - we made our way to newark first. no pics from that spot in this thread because ultimately this day was ALL about long island. we made good time all cramped inside my rental car - a brand spanking new fiat 500 - which is smaller than a mini cooper but gets about 40 MPG so we were set. we pulled up to building 93 and were shooting exteriors as the park police rolled up - they backed in onto the field where we were - just to let us know they were there. we continued shooting. catandtie laid down and was doing some time lapse video and all was right. since we knew they hadnt seen which car we came up in we were just waiting for the right moment to make our move. we worked our way through the first 5-6 floors before meeting up with a couple of other people who knew the place like the back of their hands. literally. no visit here would be complete without basking in the warm sunlight from high atop building 93 - which we fully did. from there we worked our way over to a different set of buildings before calling it a day and heading back home. i could not have imagined in my wildest dreams being able to see this place while i was in town but sure as shit - i did. it was the absolute perfect ending to my trip to the northeast. i cant wait to get back and as i am typing this now...i am plotting my escape from texas to live up there. thats right - you all converted me. fuck the south rising again. the only thing rising down here is the fucking heat. im done with you texas. again - many thanks go out to all those that helped make this one of the most memorable weeks of my entire life. i owe you all in a major way. i wont forget it - i promise you that.

I like this set. I think it's full of awesome.

KPPC is one of my most favorite places. A lot of people are over it, -whatever.

You're right about all the great locations. I travel across the country to explore there, as often as I can!

I'll never forget the first time I was in 93, especially after staring at it on flickr as well as here, for years. In fact, one year, I celebrated my UER birthday in 93.

thank you maypost! i think this is the first compliment you have ever issued to me. validation! seriously - thanks everyone! it means a lot to me that you all like the photographs. i loved this place so much - it was overwhelming in so many ways. and yes - many secrets revealed here. i know its been photographed over and over again but we all see the world differently so we will each find our own angles and corners of each location. thats what i love about photography. there were 6 of us in there that day and i doubt any of our photographs look the same even when shooting in the same room. take the privacy screen we set up. i was standing behind porcelain doll while she was shooting and we were both shooting that screen but our shots are completely different (hers are WAY better by the way) but still - that diversity truly is what makes photography so amazing.

Words fail me. Everything about this place - the architecture, the atmosphere, the sheer size - is utterly amazing.

Great photos of an incredible place.

Epic fuckin' set, bro!
