| | Mink Cove Fish Plant (NS) < on 8/25/2011 12:29 PM >
| | | I found this little spot on the same weekend I went to Gullivers Cove. So reminder if you didn't see my other post, I went with the intention of trying HDR for the first time. So I have included some of them again From what I could find, I've seen a reference to a fish processing plant in Mink Cove, and that's what it appears to be as well. Description of the area and beach around the fish plant also matches up to what I saw here. The place was actually originally called Mint Cove, because of all the green Mint that grew there, but because of a Post Office stamp error that was never fixed they then went by Mink Cove. I found this funny. Although I am not sure when it was last used, or if it is maybe even seasonal use for something else. The doors were all wide open so it was fairly easy to just walk through. One end is all dark with no windows and looks like a bunch of nets stored there, along with other random crap.. like part of a 3-wheeler. Or that machine that is in #3, I would venture a guess a water pump of some sort? but total speculation. Only a few pictures of the spot really, didn't get the large open end that was all dark with the random stuff. The fiancée was getting restless I think after a long day on the road 1. The beach it is on.
2. Small little out building. I did not enter.
3. Machine sitting inside. Water pump maybe?
4. Inside...
5. Front side of the building.
6. Looking the opposite way. Down behind that wall was the large warehouse type area with no light. Almost looks like they cut out walls? Maybe to remove equipment..
7. Now this is one of my first ever attempts at HDR. The windows again were a bit blown out, and as I look at it now, some of the colors are a bit darker than I like.. but meh.
8. And another!
Cheers! [last edit 8/25/2011 12:30 PM by tmacl - edited 1 times]
