are you talking about the train bridge? I didn't climb it I took a few pictures of it. I couldn't really figure out a really good way to get to it any good ways that you know of? I ended up parking in the Casino's parking lot and walking up to it from there.

Doodbro, dude.

Any interiors, histoynerd?

By the way, I keep reading your name as 'history nerd' instead of 'his toy nerd'... did I get it right by mistake? Halp.

You have to bushwhack it from the other side. Go in the fall, it will still be hard, but a lot easier.

no interiors sorry. When I went to Boonville I had no idea that the military academy was there and really just went there to drive around and take a few pics and was wearing flip flops so I didn't go in. There was a window that was broken out that would have been really easy to climb through though. and its History nerd.

I might have to do that, I had no idea the bridge existed and when I got home I looked up the history behind it which is pretty cool, they are trying to raise money to fix it up and make it part of the Katy trail which would be cool.

The railroad is trying to claim the bridge and move it to reuse it. I hope it doesn't happen.

Also, walking the peak on top is Awesome!

They've given up on that. The bridge stays where it is, and UP is building a new one in the other location.

That bridge is worth the trip.

Are they still going to try and turn the bridge into part of the Katy Trail?

That was the plan last I heard. There was talk of permanently raising the center span and building approaches on each side.

I've been looking at the academy for years now. There just doesn't seem to be a safe way in, much less easy.

I was much relived when UP relented on the bridge. What an excellent grass roots campaign

The academy is super easy to access.

The bridge is awesome too.

There are also really cool brewery ruins in the woods (pics in the database)

When I was there I found a really easy way into one of the main buildings but I didn't go in bc I wasn't really planning on finding anything like that, and was wearing flip flops
