Hotel and Diner

This hotel sits right on the edge of what used to be a very busy railroad intersection. Built in 1920 this hotel was known up and down the railroad as the best and most affordable place to stay. It is made up of 4 stories and has over 70 rooms.

A person could get directly off a train and check in for one night, or live there for a longer period of time. Many railroad workers stayed at this hotel on a regular basis. Through the years it has been home to a doctor's office, a barber shop, movie theater, and dining room that many people would visit on Sunday afternoons. Many of the railroad workers who stayed at this hotel regularly took up home in the area, most of them still reside there to this day.

Most pictures are of poor quality, but I hope to upload more soon.

Man, this place is awesome. It looks relatively untouched.
The cash register is particularly interesting. Probably something that's worth money to someone.

Also TRAIN SET! Get that thing up and working man!

I'm surprised that cash register is still there. I bet it's worth a pretty penny.

Yea, I have taken a look at it and all the connectors are in perfect condition. But whoever it belonged to took the trains with them haha. Other than that it will more than likely work.

It is actually in great condition. I looked over it a bit and all the buttons are still in working condition. The track that the drawer sits on is still lubricated too. It is astonishing that it's still in the shape is it.

Man, what a cool step back in time!! Almost looks like a place they could shoot a western at!

Even w/o the train, the name-sake logoed accessories make that a very cool find and photo opp!

Have you heard anything on the timeline for the museum?

The last I heard they were still trying to raise enough money, but they recently voted on a better police force, so that's where all their money is going. In my opinion, if they ever actually do it, it will be in at least 10 years sadly. It's a beautiful place, and has so much awesome history, it's a shame to see it rot away.

We actually did open all of the fridges, and a couple of them had power. One of them had apple jelly in it haha

The piano is in great condition. Still plays, the keys aren't sticky, they still hold their weight, and most of the strings are in tact. The room it sits in is one of the most highly preserved areas of the place. Lucky piano I guess.

Wow. Great find. Even with the annoying pop-up gallery...still was worth checking out every single shot. Thanks for sharing.
