Three houses in Maryland

As the title states, these are pictures I took exploring various abandoned homes I found here in MD. Vacant houses have always been a favorite of mine because of the personal history attached to them, whatever it may be. Before they were left to the elements to rot, they were the centers of peoples' lives, good and bad. Now they stand derelict, ignored but not entirely forgotten.

Anyway, onto the pictures themselves. Sorry for whatever grainy-ness is present in them; my phone does its best. Most of these were taken using the iPhone's HDR option. There are just under three dozen.

First set.

I lived in this area for years, never noticing this thing the entire time. While driving through the area with a friend back in April, though, I happened to glance left and was surprised with this sight. This is how it looks from the road if you're lucky to spot it. The front door is completely covered with overgrowth; you'd need a machete to get through.

2a.

3a. The back of the house. Of course, I made the n00b mistake of forgetting my flashlight. I couldn't be bothered to go back and get it, so I only stuck my head through the door after knocking over the mattress that was covering it. The interior from what I could tell was saturated with piss-poor graffiti. Fucking vandals.

5a. This was an interesting find about thirty feet or so from the other abandonment. If this structure was another house at one time, it was tiny.

Second set.

1b. This home, unlike the first one, was surrounded by farmland. An active home sits a few hundred yards away from this one, but the whole time I was there no one seemed to take notice of me.

2b.

3b.

4b. There were a few outbuildings behind and beside the house, but mostly didn't contain anything of interest.

5b.

6b. I didn't go beyond the kitchen because the floor was extremely spongy and soft. I figured it was only a matter of time before it buckled beneath me.

7b. One of the outbuildings had a few items of interest.

8b. Typical lonely chair shot.

9b.

10b. Another shot of the chair. I kinda like it, it's a shame it was left behind.

11b. A second chair.

12b. Old hymnal book.

Third set.

1c. Another house I came across by accident, this one is right down the road from my grandmother's. I'm sure I'd driven by it many times before and never noticed it, so it was surprising to suddenly spot it.

2c.

3c. Derp.

4c.

5c.

6c. Upstairs.

7c.

8c. A second bedroom next to this bathroom had hundreds of wire clothes hangers stacked all over the floor.

9c. Back downstairs. I had to admit this room was a bit eerie for some reason.

10c.

11c. No discarded hands or babies here!

12c. HURRRR SO EDGY. Also, I kinda like this coat hanger.

13c. Didn't bother going in here. Couldn't even see the floor!

14c. Something sappy to finish this thing off with; I took it on my way home. Fucking Bay Bridge traffic!

Thanks for looking! I'll do better next time.

Worcester County is loaded with them. Really all over the Eastern Shore, though.

The residential abandonments are the most awesome. Its kinda like a look into the personal lives of the previous inhabitants. So cool!

I like exploring the big stuff too; I guess houses are just more plentiful.

Really cool! When I can, I'll get a pic of this old house, not more then half a mile from my own, that i think would be interesting. I dunno if i'd want to go into it personally, but maybe one day. And picture 9, I think it was, the vine coming through the window looks like someone strewn out on the couch,
