Three Unrelated Locations

Here's three more places I've visited this year.

First, Why go the easy way when you can go the fun way!
11.

12.

13.

14.

15.

Next, an abandoned train
21. The train was just left to rot.

22.

23. PRR.

24. Some cars were in good shape...

25. Others not so good...

26.

And last is the old Fall River Airport. It closed back in 1996.
The FAA deemed that the airport was unsafe due to a large landfill adjacent to the airport
31.

32.

33.

Nice stuff, lol @ your tunnel access. If you're able, try winter once there's some decent snowfalls. It's incredibly hard to get through the deep snow but the ice formations are outrageous!

I've never seen a dead train before, pretty cool. Somehow I actually like the airport alot too, even though it's just a field of tar.

I was at the tunnel back in late May, there was still some ice. I might make the 2+ hour trip this winter, I should have done it last winter when my friend lived about 5 miles away.

I remember back when the airport was open. I loved watching that blue light spin every time I went by at night (I was 3-5 years old at the time)
Now less then 800' of runway is left. I was hoping the runway lights would still be there, they were a few years ago, but that's now another building.

Oh man I would love to know what happened to that train. Probably something boring. Still though. Nice pics.

So they closed the airport because of the seagulls from the nearby landfill? WHy not just kill the birds?

Love the train! I'm curious why did you guys repel down from the top of the tunnel when you could have just walked down?

The train is on an island. I know the only rail bridge was hit by a barge and was never fixed. I think they just left it because they didn't want to spend the money to truck it back.

The city wanted to sell the land into a higher tax bracket. They opened the landfill as a way to force it to close.

You never see them walk around in the spy movies!
OK, we just wanted to check out some new gear and the tunnel was the closest place to do it. My friend was living less then ten minutes away at the time.

And that was 26 years after it closed.
Has anyone checked out the new road bridge going in there? it's the same type as part of the Iway, and i know people could get in that.
