Bucks / Montgomery County, PA - Locations? < on 8/12/2011 10:57 AM >
Hey guys,
I'm a second year Photography student at Kutztown University, and I'm finishing up a summer study of Urban Exploration. I know that my regions are full of great spots for urban exploration, but I've had some trouble locating any really good spots to root around respectfully and photograph. I was in hopeful ponder that maybe you guys could help me out with some recommendations? I have visited Whitehall, the Manayunk Towpath(aka where Shawmont has ceased to exist), Centralia, Asbury Park, NJ (Pre-Restoration Project), and mostly some of the larger spots that are definitely more simple in terms of trespassing and all of that nonsense. However, I'm looking for some really endearing locations - such as houses, schools, churches, factories and farms. I've heard of Pennhurst and various industrial parks in the Lansdale area, though I the birds word is that they are extremely patrolled at this point. Boo.
I'd greatly appreciate any input

If you research back in time to the show: Bewitched, you will find the episode where Samantha's father Maurice, gave Darrin a token that was filled with witchcraft. I can't remember all the words...but it was something like: ZOLTEN PRANKEN KO PECK LUM. Actually, that sounds about right. SO: I meant to be a sarcastic bitch...but I actually gave you the true code. Enjoy your trip. [last edit 8/12/2011 11:35 AM by denvereen - edited 1 times]

Houses and farms? Just set aside one day, starting early morning, to aimlessly drive. You'll probably find a handful no matter what state you're in. http://www.flickr....irdlingphotography

I've actually read that because of the overpopulation crisis in the United States all of the abandoned houses and farms have been filled up. Perhaps try to get into the many abandoned banks in your area. Some of them look active but that's just for show, most of them still have their (cop)per too. dear. etlacou i thought i would get to it before the wolves show their teeth. the ue community is a very secretive group when it comes to outsiders for various reasons, but most importantly the safety and concern for the condition of the site i would say is number one. when strangers come on the the site and just ask for handouts without any work when people will put many hours or days of research into a location it is like an insult. i recommend first you post some of your explorations tell some story's and get to know some people on the forums. i wish you the best of luck on your adventures this area is ripe for the daring and the casual explorer. Drive around your area all day and look for something abandoned. No matter how shitty. Then take pictures of it. Then post the pictures on here. Then one of us will probably post in the comments something like "back when i explored this it was in better shape". Then pm that person and ask them if they know of anything nicer nearby.
In theory, thats how you ask for locations.
OR you could use google earth, the library, and your car (or bike) to find locations yourself, and skip the whole asking part in general. Locations are better when you think your the only person in the world who knows about them. It's not the smokes makin' me sick, It's standing out in the cold to smoke em'
