***apologies throughout photos == the camera had been a gift from some benefactor at some point...***

since i was in high school, i'd known about an alternative path to the local cliffs (aka the critter cliffs, due to a mysterious plaque glued to one of the rocks at the top, dedicated to a 'samuel christopher carahan' or something, .. that's not important right now.

point of the thread is that there was an old bus that had been driven up to the middle of these woods at the base of the mountain, along with a few tons of scrap metal ditched around it (laundry machines, refrigerators, a few parts and pieces of cars).

as the years went on, we realized this was a great place to park near and hike to for secluded late night campfires.

eventually, of course, the wrong people found out about it and i've heard in the passed year someone finally scrapped the entire shell of the bus, moving it out piece by piece.

since i just recently switched computers, all i can find of it (or any personal UE's, for that matter) are in a hidden folder on my facebook profile.

this is my first thread here, so i'll try to bring something to the table without screwing too much up

actually, shucks... i don't have as many as i thought i did on there...

but found --

A) old house on the county border, near the bus:

found this bike next to a collapsed shed

a4
weapons/tools near the shed

a5
upon discovering an unlocked window

a6
upstairs, the second floor is a bedroom that leads to a room with a single desk. in that desk's sole drawer was a family of mice.
did not get a picture of that, but did get the part where the roof caved in and moss/vines started over growing.

a7
huuuge axe outside the front door. maybe for easy access when it's been locked

a8
closer to the front

after the last picture was taken, a middle-aged man in the house across the street noticed me as he was tending to his yard. he approached me, so i told the two girls that were with me to get in the car like we were leaving and i went and spoke with him.

luckily he didn't seem to care at all that we were there; he just wanted to make sure we weren't the neighbor kids picking up sharp objects and getting tetanus. nice enough dude.

he had no history about the house, but talked about the history of his house with a bit of pride. something about it having been a school house before made residential.

i didn't have the heart to tell him that it was because his house was still tended to and looked 'beautiful' i didn't care as much.

ahhh and the last one i've got on the faceyspaces is on the same mountain, but more of a hike.

i actually filmed a music video in its second floor one time (8mm film to internet is still one trick i've yet to learn) and it's one of my personal favorites to hang out in.

B1
it's obvious this building had an addition put on to it at some point in it's life. i'd say the original part most likely predates the civil war (i lived for a while in a house built around the same time, but maintained a hell of a lot better) and the second part, i've no clue.
it's just kinda made apparent in this close up of the front door(s)
(left side is the older one, if it's not apparent)

b2
second floor of the newer edition. has a chimney between two small windows

b3
picture of the original second floor. DO NOT STEP IN THERE - the first chimney broke down, leaving a pile of bricks on rotting wood. luckily the roof is still strong enough to hold snow. pictured is a spirit of a tenant who was cooked in their own fire place (allegedly)

b4
and a shoe

b5
outside again

C

and to show how cool i am, a tunnel

2
got in there just as the sun was rising

4
it's a drainage pipe for one of the residential areas. i climbed a ladder and took a picture of my florescent friends

i'm done for tonight -- took me an hour to post this all out.

for those of you i know on here that don't know they know me, hi

i doubt you'll recognize me in any pictures.

don't worry, i'm cool
