| | | The Warner & Swasey building in Cleveland. Amazing building! This 131 year old building has been vacant since 1985. The city of Cleveland then decided to buy the building in 1991 talk of re-building this has been floating around but nothing has come from it. The only downfalls to this site are a lot of gang-related tagging and a shoddy neighborhood. Underground tunnels run from this building, out to under the street. A once great plant made lathes used to produce tanks, guns, ships and airplanes during World War II. Also as a side business made telescopes. Any questions about the site just post and I'll be happy to answer them. [last edit 7/24/2011 3:10 AM by Needstolearnmore - edited 1 times]

| | | Always wanted to visit this place when I passed. Are there many artifacts inside? and did you see anybody there? I want to go but I don't trust the neighborhood going alone.

It was pretty packed with artifacts, and a few kids. The kids we're on the roof and, tossing rocks off om to the courtyard. We yelled up and these kids stopped and yelled sorry. Nice kids talked to them in the stairs. Lots of tagging though. Didn't go into the underground tunnels at the time as it was only the two of us with little draining experience. Would like to go back though after reading tghe draining guid in the in book Access all areas. Going back with a sketch of the building soon to map. Area isn't that bad as to the building being right next to the City's Buildings next to it. Well worth the trip.

| | | I've heard it described as boring, but your pictures make it look pretty interesting! The Westinghouse building is but a short walk from there.
