There's a guy on youtube named elevatorguy or something like that, he uses them. I'm pretty sure my father used to have one somewhere from when he worked maintenance at a building. One type of key I'm pretty sure works for all elevators manufactured by that company. Anyways, the guy on youtube had videos of him getting stuck in elevators or purposely stopping them and fiddling with the key to get it working again. Pretty dumb. I forget how I even brought those videos up. You might be able to find them.

EDIT, Not the guy I was talking about but here's a video explaining how they get the doors open, could be useful to someone, who knows.

Y'all who go out and try this, read up or talk to people about what not to do. Or, hell, go try it. Watch for moving parts, pinch points, and the like. Just don't get hurt or dead and call 911, because that gets elevators secured. Also it's shitty to lose fingers over insufficient research/caution.

As for safety interlocks, there is no way in hell an Urbexer should be disabling them. I'm only supposed to do that under certain conditions, and I repair the things. In the course of exploring an elevator, you will trip safety interlocks, but that's pretty harmless, it just means the elevator won't start until they are reset. Some are simple to reset, like pulling or twisting the E-stop button. Some are tricky, especially if you haven't been trained. Reset them when you can, but NOT UNTIL YOU ARE OUT OF THE SHAFT! I'd much rather reset a couple switches than clean half a dead guy out of my machinery room.

Now we got an elevator and now I have a normal key and a round one.
And I don't even know who made this elevator, as it's still packed in foil.

Also, just a helpful hint.

If you want to play with the key switches inside an elevator: Don't do it while the elevator is in motion.

Might seem like a silly concept, but if you trip some safeties, you're going to be stuck in the box until a technician arrives to get you out. You'll be safe, but it might be awkward explaining why you're in the elevator if it's an area you're not supposed to be in.

Having a buddy outside with the door keys won't always solve this either, as the 'lock' on the inner door won't always open if some safeties are tripped.
