I already posted in the new member thread, but since this is the area I'm going to explore in, I figured I'd introduce myself in the PNW forum. Just moved to Seattle a few weeks ago from Minneapolis. It was a really great UE scene out there, and I'm hoping to find the same here. I've got my eyes on a few places, but I'd much prefer to meet up with a veteran of this area than poke around by myself at first. Half of the fun for me was exploring with others. SO, howdy all. Feel free to comment on here or message me if you're up for an expedition. I've got a car if transportation is an issue. Here's some photos from my exploits in Minneapolis.

It was called Hamm's Brewery. Really sweet place. There are about 6 buildings on either side of the street, connected through underground tunnels. You see a lot of that in Minneapolis/ St. Paul to avoid going outside in the winter time. I must have gone to Hamm's a dozen times in the 2 years I was exploring out there. Here's a link with some more info/shots:

I found a website with a list of ghost towns that looks extremely promising. I'm going to have to sift through each of the towns to find ones with a significant amount of buildings, but the website seems very thorough. I'll be posting my decisions and pictures after some trips, just been busy with work the last few weeks.

Hi Tatz, what area are you in and looking to explore? Are you up to fellow explorers tagging along?

Gryphen, there is one in particular that's caught my eye: Monte Cristo, WA.

It looks to be nearly a 2 hour drive from where I live (which is near the Seattle U campus), and then a 4 mile hike to the ruins, but there is a lot there and would be a great day trip.

I'd be happy to have some fellow explorers tag along, although I'd like to meet you beforehand. Private message me where you live and maybe we can set something up.

Welcome to the area, I also just moved here a month ago. I did a lot of exploring in Cleveland, and Detroit. It would be great to meet up with some people here, I had a great group in Cleveland which was part of the fun.

That place IS sweet! Is it still around? Last time I was in Minneapolis (2005), I spent a lot of time trying to find a way into the UM tunnels. Eventually I gave up and went to Hamm's Brewery instead.

Unfortunately a significant portion of the tunnel systems in Minneapolis and St. Paul were welded shut due to the Republican National Convention being held there in 2008. I never got into the UM tunnels even before that, however I have been in what Action Squad refers to as "The Labyrinth". It is essentially the utility tunnels underneath St. Paul. They are IMMENSE, as in they are as big as the city itself, multiple levels, a mixing of caves and reinforced power-carrying tunnels, rooms with active generators, etc. In many places there are motion sensing cameras and keypad-access doors as well as other security measures. Not a place to go down unmasked for security reasons, but absolutely the most incredible exploring I've ever done.

Some of my other favorites in the Twin Cities were the double-helix storm drain, Phalen Creek Munitions Plant, Nicollet Island Tunnels and NSP Power Plant (both right on St. Anthony Main where I lived). Are you familiar with any of them?

Nope. I was only there a few days, and only because this girl in Kansas was like, "I'm going to Minneapolis, want to go?"
So I went and got perplexed that I could stand in downtown on the corner of 4th and 4th, 5th and 5th, 6th and 6th... I got pretty lost.

I'm taking notes though. Next time I go, I'll be checkin' out the double helix storm drain first, because it sounds like the name of a bitchin' water park ride -- and I like those.

Cool man, have fun. Let me know when you go back, especially if it is around a major holiday. My girlfriend grew up there so we will be back often. If you need any help getting around there I'd be happy to give you some helpful exploring hints in a private message. And obviously hit me up if you wanna meet up out here in Seattle.

I would very much enjoy a meetup as well. I live in Cap Hill not too far from Seattle U, and have lived here quite a while. There are some good places to explore in the city itself, but more or less very difficult to get into. Your best bet is exploring outside the city.

I just joined recently myself, and would be interested in a local meetup as well. I notice that I just missed one of the big meetups in Seattle, near the Fisher Flour Mill. I'm currently living in Georgetown and would like to learn more about UE spots in the area.

Stumbled across this thread doing a search for "the labyrinth". That place has been the elusive unicorn for me, despite a few attempts at finding an un-sealed location. Hit me up if you guys ever come to the Twin Cities, I know quite a few interesting spots around here!
