| | | Great find! While it might be something else, the third photo has what appears to be an old phonograph that you would wind up by hand. Definitely some great history in that house.

| | | Man you are one busy dude! Really cool house and reminds me of most of the ones out K-W way. I can smell it looking at the shots and have one question for you - do you always wear a respirator?

Yikes! You may want to get one. I bought one 2 years ago and always forget to bring it but if I go in a place full of the obvious crap I won't stay. I love to explore and shoot my heart out but worry about the long term risks.

| | | Holy shit. As a child, we had that EXACT wood stove in our vacation farm up in Barry's Bay. We eventually moved it out of that place and had to sell it. Thanks for the little blast from the past.

| | | My parents had the same cookstove in their farmhouse as well... insurance company made them remove it when they renovated. Nice find, I've never seen that place and I'm always in the Havelock area.

the long term risks of life are death and decomp. I do take some safety precautions, but I'm not obsessive by any means. I do have a mould allergy so I wear a respirator in spots like skoka and sundial.

| | | ---------UPDATE---------
On a chilly day in early January, 2012, after fellow explorers L'Ali, Squalie, Ryan and myself got caught by the farmer within 5 minutes of entering the Down Family Farmhouse, we explored another handful of houses. Sometimes luck just isn't on your side though. Within five minutes here as well, the farmers pulled up and angrily screamed at us to leave, and never return. Just as in the Down House, I only took two photos before their arrival.

| | | Stupid angry farmers! LOL This house was stinky. I hopped in the shower once I got home. Pee, decay, garbage, and to boot I didn't get any good shots, maybe a half assed one of the stove.
