You're 15. You probably still ride a school bus. Now, stop derailing this thread further toward FailJunction.

Freak, i hope they reply to you. and be sure to post it if they do

I just got this back:

Hi Freak,

I'm sorry at my mistake and that it's upset you.
I think in one draft I had written that the movie introduces us to the likes of "Freak" and "Krazy," but I guess over the editing process Action Squad got linked with your names. Again, my apologies.

My editor added the quote from Ninjalicious after I turned in my piece and you'll be happy to know we're running a correction next week.

All the best, Anne

You do have to admit, that that reply was very good form.

Poorly written, but still a nice gesture from them

Oh please make sure you post the correction when it comes out. Should be interesting.

the problem with retractions and corrections is that they cant take away what someone has already read. (unless your the government, then you can take things away from peoples minds)

And with LEO, the corrections are nothing more than a minor side bar item. No one will give a care.

Well, at least you got a tidy response. Too bad it is as badly worded and written as the article itself!

When you see a correction in your local newspaper, do you read it or just pass it over? I'd be willing to bet that a significant majority pass it over. I do.

A correction notice is only a "cover my ass" maneuver. It will be seen and noticed much less than the original article will/has. Yuck.

I think I've ran into one person my whole life that new about this before I told them about it. Next semester, I'll bring it up and see how many people know about it. However, I'm sure it could be different in Canada, but where I live, which is relatively close to Louisville, not many people are aware.

Four years may not me long seeing as I've only been here half of the time this site has been up, but it's long enough to see how things go, which is what I was illustrating.

In my experience, though, articles really don't do much in the long run. I remember a few years back the NY Times did an article about AeroFennec, owner of a site I used to frequent, exploring KPPC. The article was published nationally. For a time after, the site's members went through the roof, and I'm sure that there was also a correlation on UER. But it was short-lived.

My point is that an article from Louisville, Ken., is not going to affect explorers abroad. It may affect locations in that city for a short-time, but in time everyone will forget about it.
