| | | Was wondering about the amerock building if anyone has made an attempt, have some photos of some burnt up abandoned buildings in rockford and a few out side shots of a building in Belvidere and a factory that one of my friends had some access too they are a little bit blurry Iphone was not cooperating that day. Last time I looked at the amerock building it was all fenced in and boarded up tight.

| | | theres a thread probably a page back in this section all about amerock. a few of us have been inside. but its totally closed up now. and not worth the risk to actually break in being that it is city owned.

| | | Posted by Glass If Chicago happens I might be down, if it's on a weekend. I'm in South Bend and could use a mini road trip.
|
Let me know if this Chicago meet up happens. I'm up in Lakeview myself and it would be great to have a meetup.

You mean Shireland? That place wasn't very interesting, even before they tore down the largest of the buildings there. They really didn't have "rides", per se, but more like little tracks and paths where you could ride and see horses. it was kind of a cross between a petting zoo and an amusement park for little kids. Come to think of it, it was creepier when it was open!

| | | I remember going there back in the late 80s the place was weird and the owner was a little crazy, I heard the reason it shut down was the owner could not find anyone to work for him very eccentric.
