| | Abandoned farmhouse in South-Central WI < on 5/19/2011 8:43 PM >
| | | Some shots I took recently of an abandoned house near Madison. It's only been vacant for approximately four years, judging by mail left behind. The decor and amount of personal property left behind struck me as pretty odd.

| | | It reminds me of Ed Gein's farmhouse, or perhaps even the house built for the 'Psycho' movie.

There aren't many sites in Madison to visit but there are a few. Milwaukee has always been worth the drive, though. I should post my pics of A.F. Gallun and Solvay. One of these days I plan on visiting T.C. Esser. Maybe I'll post a few pics I took of the A.F. Gallun tannery before it was torn down.

Oh, don't bother with Esser. It'll kill you. It's coming down, and partially did while I was inside of it last year.
if this was last year after a teeny tiny little rainstorm, i'd hate to see what the 4 feet of snow we got sometime this year did to it...

That's unfortunate. I drove by last year and saw some of the buildings collapsing. I thought maybe some of the rest would be ok to explore. Or is it all pretty much a lost cause? Either way, Milwaukee's still got more sites to pick from than Madison.

Haha! Wouldn't it be great if the refrigerator looked like this:
Cool place! A darn shame that the roof access is open and exposing the inside to the weather. :/

Aaaaand that's when i disagree with you. : ] i've been to both. Madison's got one up. I can name three places in Milwaukee that aren't torn down yet, and one's like 10 miles south of the city.

The fridge actually looked worse than that. There weren't any jars. Only fuzz.

That's the weird thing, though. It's a farmhouse but it was a total bachelor pad. Tons of booze bottles, beer cans, and porn video cases. Looks like there were between 3 and 5 people living there along with both dogs and at least one cat, judging by the pet bowls and empty pet food containers.
