(Forgive me if it's not cool for a not-full member to make a thread like this, I'm not sure!)

A friend and I are talking about taking a trip up to Traverse City, MI soon to check out the old State Asylum there. I am looking for any info/tips from someone that has been there or if it is even worth the trip.

I know they are renovating parts of it but I am under the impression that there are still some abandoned parts. Are they accessible at all?

I appreciate any help! Feel free to PM me if it's not cool to post details here

Think we're gonna take our chances, a camping trip to TC would be fun even if we can't get in the asylum.

P.S. your avatar pic is creepy and awesome lol... is it supposed to be one of those spy vs spy dudes?

Much of it has been renovated, but its worth the trip just to visit Traverse City! Such a nice town...

And that doesn't even include the men's cottages, which I personally think are more interesting than the women's wing of the kirk (surprisingly).

Just a heads-up: scrappers were caught on the grounds a few weeks ago and a thief fleeing from police was founding hiding there today.

We're not going until next month, so hopefully things will have quieted down cop-wise there by then. Thanks for the heads up!
