Zetor has been producing tractors since 1945. The production has moved to the district of Líšeň in 1952. Area of the company is the largest industrial zone in Brno. During its existence it produced more than 1 million tractors and sold them to more than 90 countries of the world.

After the "velvet revolution" in 1989 it almost didn't survive the transformation of the communistic centrally planned economy to free competitive market and around the year 2000 it almost went bankrupt, but after some changes in the management the situation has improved and in some parts of the area tractors are still produced today.

Some buildings were rented to other smaller companies, but most of the area is still abandoned.

The place is really huge. We wandered around for hours and still didn't see some parts of it. I am definitely planning another visit this weekend.

Actually, most of the bigger halls are completely empty, nothing valuable left... But there are some forgotten rooms in the smaller buildings (#13-#17) with cups of coffee on the table, fridges with some decaying food in it... Feels like the people left it just a while ago. I love that kind of stuff

Incredibly fun looking location! Lucky you!

I've no sense, I lick electric fence; I put barbed wire in my pants and do a Celtic dance.
- My Canon 300D is beat to hell, a bit finicky, and a 'lil loose, much like everything else I own...
