Farm buildings and dy(e)ing facility - France

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since my last contribution here, but since I had quite some free time lately, I could find some stuff to explore around where I live.

So after driving around on some backroads trying to find something that stood up in the landscape, I finally came across an old dyeing factory and some farm buildings a few km away from it.

Since I didn't snap that many pics and there's just not so much to see, I've just chosen to make 1 thread about it.

Lets start with the farm buildings, I don't know much about the story behind them, but it seems that some farmer invested quite a lot of money to start a horticulture farm (according to all the glass sheets laying on the ground and since you can find a lot of greenhouses like this around the place). But apparently something went terribly wrong, issues with banks, layers and so on ... I can say that, because a few days before I actually did explore it, there was a massive sign in front of the derelict buildings telling the story (blaming the government, banks, ...) of this now angry man and why these building were actually left to rot. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics of it and it got torn down pretty quickly probably by the town administration.

All in all, a pretty sad story (any explo without a sad story?).

Apologies for the shitty pics, I still only have got cell-camera for the time being ...

That was supposed to be the greenhouse:

Mind you, I was walking on glass. It was just scattered everywhere across this place. Such a waste.

This was taken a few seconds before I could hear someone/something walking just behind these walls.

I just stood there petriefied thinking about what were my options at that time and getting ready to fly through the door behind me. But then I had to cross the entire greenhouse with all the sharp glass still laying on the ground ...

Fortunately a deer just appeared across the door frame, and ran away through the bushes as soon as it saw me. I couldn't even get a good shot of that f***er!

Anyway, couldn't get out without a good lonely chair pic right?

Cutting to the textile dyeing factory. It was part of a sock producing company from just a few km away that close about 5-10 years ago.

Entrance

Electrical transformers, everything has been removed/scrapped legally or illegally. Even every manhole cover, almost fell into one, goddamn scrappers ...

Yoda keeps an eye on this place. "The more you work, the more you progress"

The lonely hanging bike

Drying building

Socks!

Socks everywhere!

Goodbye

I've been desperately trying to get back with a real camera. But everytime I tried, there always was some "visitors" there parked in the yard. Since I don't really want to know what kind of business they were up to, I left both time I tried to get back.

I am actually surprised that these buildings are still there, usually it never happens in the area where I live. It is really hard to find abandonments around here. I will still try to post some more within the next weeks.

Also I would like to add these locations to the database. Anyone knows how this works?

Cheers.

Thanks for sharing I don't like graffiti in places, but some of those are really well done.

Hello Chrissy,

I was quite amazed when I saw all the paintings inside, wasn't expecting that kind of quality in this building in the middle of the countryside.

I should really go back and take better pics. I really hope no one will be around this time, it seems unfortunately that it is still quite "active" for some reason.
