| | Houston Drain's and Tunnels (Question...) < on 4/9/2011 6:13 AM >
| | | anyone know any/ been to any of the drains around houston? my groups only been to 2 middle tier ones in Alvin and Friendswood. but i know theres some crazy looking ones (as seen from car/satellite) all along Beltway 8. anyone been in them or care to give me warning? if not Unregistered, and I and possibly birdman and ghost are going to check them out tomorrow. plus i wanna check out Willow, even though its not abandoned anymore. its still historic as f*ck.

| | | So... for those not there, this ended up a real blooper reel exploration. Hopping a fence all three of us busted our asses, each more hilarious than the first! Here is a pic of my twisted ankle... price almost broke his neck...

| | | Yeah I do that all the time. Do it the hard way just to find out there is an easy way in. And sucks about the camera on that other drain, but I bet there is another way in. Looks like we all failed draining tonight. I went to check out something that I thought might be a drain. I ended up slipping and sliding down the embankment in a barbed shrubbery. I tore apart my right arm pretty good and scratched my face. Still painful. Here's to hoping the bush wasn't Poison Ivy or some crap like that. :/ Turns out it was a creek that just dead ends at a solid concrete wall. Who the heck designed that?

| | | Sooo.. Yeah, turns out that i broke my distal fibula (bottom of the long bone next to my shin (tibia) makes up part of the ankle) pretty good. I wont be exploring for a few weeks... And all we had to do was walk around... I think that it is obvious what this is
Super Drain frog
My bright ass, cheap ass, Dorcy spotlight- could see about 2-300 feet down the drain with it...
walking and shooting. Price's rear on right. Shortly after this I dropped my camera in the water, whoops. Good thing the 7D is water resistant. Still need to go get it cleaned now...
Stuff looked like concrete but was soft like mud!?
Next time i go draining, I am definitely bringing a skateboard with Mad wheels on it. My lower back was killing me (and my ankle) from hunching over and walking. I can't believe I walked that far on a broken ankle...
