| | | It is very interesting to me how the simplest places such as this are so fascinating. Like you said, can't pin what exactly it is, but it IS. I think for me it is a bit of nostalgia and remembering all of the stores that came and went, leaving only a wal-mart and empty buildings to be demolished. I miss the old local stores a lot and I think of them whenever I see things like this.

i know what you mean, for about 10 years we had an 8 story department store sit empty in montreal. the other big one closed in 99 but was promptly redevelopped, but simpsons sat so long and was always an interesting explo
