| | | Hammock Drain Brisbane Australia < on 3/23/2011 3:04 AM >
| | | Hey :) Just wanted to post up some pictures of a local drain I had a peak into the other day. It is nothing special, pretty short duel 560m rcp out in the burbs of Brisbane. It has an interesting little room with ladders on either end that other local explorers have used to great effect with props ;) The pictures are nothing special, but they are some of my first with a decent torch and playing with some light painting. Anyhow :) I was pretty happy with the results and wanted to contribute something after posting my introduction :) Apologies for the noise :) my camera only does a 15sec exposure and even on 100iso seems to deliver some irritating levels of noise and hot pixels :-/ I did take some film shots in here too (ooohh bulb exposure, how sweet thou art) but it will likely take me a long time to use the rest of my 36 roll. Price you pay I guess...

| | | Hey Phelonius, Yeah a good few years back I did lots of black and white film stuff and developed all my own prints etc. It's good fun I don't know how hard color is, but B&W is very easy and fairly forgiving. I was always a little fast and loose with the timing and measurements with the chemicals It is not exactly the cheapest hobby however. I sold up all my darkroom equipment and tossed all the stale chemicals and whatnot a few months back. (having a family = not having time for a darkroom! ) As for cameras, I have an old Ricoh KR-5 I use, it's your run of the mill 35mm PK mount. Pretty solid little camera though. I would say any old Pentax or PK mount camera you could ebay would be fine if you whack and ok lens on the front. I only really started lugging a film camera around again when exploring, because I have a crap digital point and shoot that has a 15 sec max exposure and I wanted to do some long exposures in drains and at night. Cheers, crazytrain1978
