thats terrible. i wonder if they are able to rebuild it. is is allways such a shame seeing historical buildings be destroyed. a little while back, an old building in downtown ST. Catherines burned down. iw was one of those that is connected to the buildings on either side, so i dont know what they are going to do.

I'm sure it'll succumb to a wrecking ball just like every other building in down town St. Catharines that gets torched. If they didn't save the old Opera Hall there's no way in hell an old commercial building is going to get a new lease on life. Besides, I'm sure with the new Art Centre (the old Canada Hair Cloth building) that Brock is opening that building (the one that had a fire) will get knocked down for some alternative entrance for getting down into the valley I'm sure.

What a shame...

With the fire being found inside while the place was under renovation makes me wonder if it was an electrician, who wasn't really an electrician, doing a shabby job.
