A followup visit

I'd been here once before but the sun set while inside and most of the shots ended up lousy in addition to having a hell of a time navigating. This time accompanied by Ma'ii and Captain Squeaky, much more was accomplished and I was even able to undo alot of my frustration at botched photos.

While last time I'd only found what I believe to be the 'excitable females ward', this time we found a way into [again what I believe to be] the 'violent males ward'. This place classified patients into four personality types and split the wards based on them as well as genders. The 'no men beyond here' sign and intense security gave me the notion as to what the ward was.

Kinda cool, it seems they used some type of color therapy here. Excitable = pastel colors and violent = deep and vibrant colors.

I had been dying to see these in daylight, last time it was nearly pitch black.

Slick with ice, you could see the tiles trapped beneath it.

A shot of the dead room, but this time the snow [and light] prevented my re-taking of the old shot from last visit.

The tiny hole at the end of here was a little tunnel from women's to men's ward.

Kinda creepy, I got a shot of my lucky number room last time and went back to it this time, the door is open alot wider now. I had visitors and never knew.

Nice shots, man! I live about 20 minutes from this place but never bothered because I didn't realize how much there is to see. Definitely checking it out in the near future.

From what I've seen so far the glass hallway is my favorite, I could spend days in those buildings.

I'm still kicking myself for forgetting my camera in the car. I definitely want to get back there once the snow melts.

Glad you guys dug it, Ma'ii...I see you spent some time in hell. Some extremely edgy kid had tagged that on the door you're splorin. Honestly I never considered you could go in there, I thought it was a waste chute or something. Did it go somewhere?

Squeak, at least you got that nifty eye shot avatar out of it, right? You can borrow my shots as representative to your stay at the asylum...and at least next time you'll probably be unable to keep from constantly checking if you've got your camera. Honestly I check my pocket every ten minutes because I'm irrationally anal, lol.

Thanks, somehow it seems alot of people write this place off as uninteresting. But for starters, it's an asylum! It can't possibly be uninteresting...and beyond that it's one of the few remaining anymore.

Honestly it's one of my favorite places of all. One bad thing is that it's surrounded by some kind of active school so the kids kinda just wander around it. While leaving I had to duck from one of them and it scared the piss out of me. But I guess you can even pretend to be a student. There's so insanely many footprints leading through the snow and so many NEW holes were in window boards since my visit three months ago that I'm lead to believe the students do this alot.

Also there's alot of really shitty graffiti that can ruin some nice shots. In one area, for example, the N word is massive on a door. But it's spelled wrong. Wait, wait...first off...the N word? That's terrible as is. But you...you spelled it wrong? You found a way to actually make that worse? What's the opposite of 'hats off to you, sir'?

Sorry, wrong state--but this is, at least to me, worth leaving NH for.

Nice pictures man! Just curious but when you went here, did you drive in past the welcome shack or did you guys just hop the fence?

First time, when I went alone, I did whatever the opposite of hopping a fence is...there was like a rabbit hole. This time we 'took a train without getting on the train'

My bad, might have gotten cocky there...my basic point is that there's a place for parking and the fence is sub-par. Any details that are really very helpful are up to you to figure out :p
