|  | | | I was told about this place in Pittsburgh, and started checking it out last time I visited my friend, and finally got to check out the silo part this time. There wasn't a lot to it, but it was still a nice place,

Thanks, it was interesting, the silo part had less than I expected, but it was still interesting. Glad you liked it, hoping to get more places to go in Pitts soon

I noticed that too about the warehouse, the silo building had a lot of grain dust all over though, and oddly no fire damage from the blaze that took out the center building, you can see the scorch marks on the silo, and most of the windows on that side of the warehouse were melted.

There were some papers taped to both buildings dated Oct of last year, I think it was about a hearing or something against the owners. Both places are surprisingly in good shape. If Pittsburgh is anything like this town they are probably listed as historical landmarks and safe from demolition

Yeah, they were old letters between the grain company and customers, all the ones we saw were dated from the 1940s

I appreciate the heads up, these were some nice places and they helped me get my friend into exploring. That was one of the first things she asked when she told me her weekend off..... Are ya comin down, and do you know of anymore abandoned buildings...

Haha, there were a few spots like that in that place. I think the biggest one for me was the stairs going up the silo. they were open steel steps that like spiraled all the way to the top, and you could look straight down to the bottom floor and straight up to the ceiling
