I travel north every year in silent protest against the birds. Or maybe I've got family up here in South Bend. In either case, I'm here for the holidays and decided I needed to explore. The first two pictures are from a town a touch north, but the rest are pretty obvious if you know the area.

I know it's a pretty standard hit for South Bend, but I wanted to see it before it was all gone. It's gorgeous with the snow, though I'm pretty annoyed that the ice has sealed off every roof-access point I could find.

That being said, I'll be up here until the 29th so if anyone is in the area and wants to explore, I'd love to meet up. Hell, if anyone wants to just meet up and have a drink or catch some food, I'd love to just make some UE friends up here.

Good job my man, you're photographic skills are improving dramatically. I like #10 and #11 for the win, but the whole set has inspired me to review my archive of northern delights. I think the snow adds so much more dimension to the locations you've found. Good job.

So you found yourself atop the slick, ice-covered roof of an abandoned manufacturing facility? I hope there were ladders. Did flakes of rust dig into your fingers? Did the cold metal make your hands numb? Did you surveil security guards as you scaled gigantic cooling towers? Did you traverse swiftly a vast and elaborate network of roofs, connected by bridges, ladders and pipelines?

Too bad about the frozen access points.

I agree with Once-ler - the photography is impressive. My favorites are 2 and 8. In 2, the reflections in the glass front door establish a center of balance that radiates throughout the composition. Your body leans right, the van leans left. The window leans left, the stone facade leans right.

I like 8 for the stark contrasts between black and white spaces. The white snow abutting the dark interior of the first floor. The dark window posed beneath the white sky. Nice job, too, of adorning a scene of ruin and decay with emeralds.

All in all a successful expedition. Good work as always.

Nice set, especially the Studebaker area (most of that is gone now). The couple from Niles are great as well. Next time you're in the area, there are quite a few more places right here around the Niles and South Bend area!
