If you snooze you do lose, most everything here gets leveled...quickly. I'm actually gonna travel out of state to explore for just this reason.

Most decent explorers travel far and wide to steal photograph the best locations.

Step up your game already.

One time I found this sweet old garage out in the middle of nowhere that was full of sweet old military vehicles, my friend who was with me at the time was into building up Jeeps and wanted this M37 that was in there so we went across the street and knocked on the door of the only house around that wasn't abandoned and asked the guy if he knew who owned it, he directed us to a guys house a mile or two down the road. When we got there we knocked on the door but nobody answered so we went poking around in the garden and came across the old man who owned the garage, he wasn't upset that we had gone on his property and told us the story of how he got them and how he used to drive them all around town back in the day in parades and stuff. My friend asked him if he would sell the M37 and he thought about it and said he could have it for $2500 which was a pretty good deal for the shape it was in, the only thing it would have needed was a new battery and tires and a tune up. Unfortunately my friend got shipped to Japan and never got to buy it.

If you're *that* interested in something I think trying to ask permission is feasible, but if it's obviously being thrown out (ie: in a dumpster) then go ahead and take it.

Yeah removing items happens. I'm not into it, and I won't explore with people who take stuff purely for legal reasons in case we get caught, I don't want to be slapped with higher charges. I have a wife and daughter and don't need that kind of shit on my head.

Oh yeah, I just remembered the time one of my friends tried stealing a tambourine from a karaoke wedding hall, then we were caught. Not the quietest getaway ever. I think I told him to leave the tambourine behind.

I definitely don't know anyone who has vehicles from abandoned places. Nope, not at all.

I also have totally NOT pulled stuff out from under demolition rubble and sold it on ebay for big bucks. Nope, not at all.

My dad built our house out of salvaged bits of abandoned buildings, I can remember playing in ruins when I was 5 or 6 while he pulled out windows and redwood beams... so my ethics are a bit different

Turn off the internet and go play outside.

It was just a really short angry Korean guy in a suit who knew the owner, so we weren't in any trouble. Plus, I walked away with some glassware nobody knew about.

Well, if you dont have anything on you, you cant be charged for burglary. Only the person carrying the item will. But it also makes the cop more mad and he will probably arrest you for trespassing instead of just telling you to get out ya know.

I've been doing this song and dance for a while. I've seen both good and bad cops, i'd rather play it safe and either go alone (which is what I do most of the time anyways) or go with people who also are not interested in lifting items.

They can arrest you for whatever they want, it's up to the courts to sort that shit out. Your friend steals something, you are with them, guilty by association. If you are driving, now you are an accessory, hell they'll probably charge you with conspiracy too because "you didn't try and stop it" or "I think you planned it together" and "unless you flip on your friend, you are going to jail for the night too."

The funny thing is the more bullshit (conspiracy/accessory/etc) they write on that piece of paper, the more likely the courts are too dismiss it as over reaching.

That depends if the cop is in a good mood or bad mood that day. I haven't encountered one in a bad mood, well except for the guy to give me a speeding ticket on the mass pike, or the guy who wanted to arrest me for bullshit in highschool (he threatened to arrest me me for "conspiracy to commit sexual harassment" because I wrote in an email we should pay a hooker to show up at the principals office) but they don't count. ;)

Removing items from sites is only allowed in sewers, but you have to leave something too, to balance it out.
