Me and a friend of mine, whom of which owns Starfire-Studios(hence the watermark, he uploaded them for me), decided to do some exploring in honor of the first real snow fall in Chicago for the year. What better than a power station that could provide us no power?

Amongst befriending truckers for parking, dodging holes in the floor, avoiding a busted water main, avoiding crafty squatters, and being scared shitless on top of a catwalk, we froze our asses off and had a damn good time in doing so.

I love roof-top shots, especially with snow. Very nice. What happened on the cat-walk? And crafty squatters? I'd love a story.

The catwalk photos actually didnt upload in this post for some reason, but it was about 3 or 4 stories over the whole place. I didn't have balls enough to walk the full length, seeing as I wasn't quite sure how sturdy it was. Perhaps I'll go back and grow a pair.

The squatter there (for being such a freezing, and open building) was living quite comfortably. On the second floor in a room that actually had a door, he had an E-Z chair with blankets, an end table covered in magazines and random nick nacks. The craftiest part of all, though, was the safety precautions he took. In the dark hallway outside of the room he stays in, he put down some type of zig zag siding, so he can be alerted when people are moving towards his room. It concerned me for about a few seconds until we realized there was no one in the room. Not the nicest part of town, so I wasnt looking to get any blunt force trauma to the head.

I love snow photos, too. Wish I had been able to take more rooftop photos, but we were running out of time, and ran the risk of our car being locked in overnight at the trucker place.
