Regular Seattle Meet-up

I'm just wondering if we have a regular meet-up in the Seattle (or Puget Sound) area? Or maybe if there are members who regularly meet-up?

It would be nice if some of the Full Members got the ball rolling on this, or private message me if you don't mind another person tagging along on less public adventures. I've been on here for awhile now, but to be honest haven't done too much exploring. I would really like to strike it with a group who goes on a regular basis.

I'm down for tunnels, drains, infiltration, abandoned sites, etc. Pretty much everything, however, I cannot do much of any free climbing. If you're planning on scaling a building using its rain leader then, unfortunately, won't be of much use. These are things we can message about though.

Anyway, hit me up. Also, when is Seattle having another convention? I believe there was one this summer, but I was in Billings. Too bad.

Most of the explorers in the PNW seem to be secretive, or lazy.

Meetups are kind of difficult to organize, but there was a BBQ earlier in the year. I wouldn't call it a convention...

There used to be. But it sorta ended when the guy in charge moved away. Vision used to hold them.

I don't think it helps that the Pacific NW section includes lower density states like WA, ID, ORE, and Alaska. We are so spread out!

He didn't move. I just got in touch with him the other day. He stopped UEing entirely.

That's too bad. I would really like to get something in Seattle going, but am personally on the novice side (not too many locations gone). We need someone with some experience to start something small and let it grow naturally.

I am willing to start a regular meetup, but don't be surprised if we just end up wandering around the streets.

He moved to Chicago, then moved back to Seattle.

Yes, it has been THAT LONG

Has the 40 year flood receded from the missel silos yet?

Well HOLY CRAP this has been going on too long.

NEXT NEXT WEEKEND. APRIL 30TH. SATURDAY AFTERNOON. AT A LOCATION IN THE SOUTH SOUND AREA YET TO BE DETERMINED. BE THERE.

This will be a PUBLIC area as meeting a bunch of strangers in a location of dubious legality is a stupid idea.

Bring whatever gear you want (leave the B&E shit at home) and if all goes well we'll have a day filled with adventuring of the first degree. If all goes shitty we'll have a day filled with tree climbing in the park. THIS IS A WIN-WIN SITUATION. Even if we're all a bunch of jerks I think we can find a way to have fun in trees. If not you should probably consider suicide.

This is going to be somewhere between Seattle and Tacoma. If nobody has a better idea, I am leaning towards a city park in Tacoma both for tree-climbing purposes and my hatred of driving anywhere far. IF YOU HAVE A BETTER SUGGESTION which you probably do THEN SAY IT.

If you have a problem with the date then speak up but I will not move it back more than a week; the idea is a REGULAR meet-up so if you miss this one there will be others!

BE THERE OR I WILL BE STANDING ALONE IN A PARK IN TACOMA AND I DON'T WANNA GET STABBED.

RSVP if you feel like it, but whatever. Do what you wanna do, don't do anything you don't wanna do, ya know?

attempt the absurd!

Let me guess... Instead of posting to the stickied bold font thread that's three fucking years old (really moderators?), you chose the one that's only two fucking years old.

Well, you probably don't have a time machine. So I recommend this: http://www.uer.ca/...nt.asp?eventid=623

Speaking of meeting up...

Discovered a new area this weekend in a location I've previously visited and it's probably a temporary situation so if anyone would be interested in checking it out pm me and soon. If you like rooftops this might be one for you.
