| | | Anyone hear any rumors what they are doing with the old Baptist Hospital? (the one right on the river) I drive by it for work a lot and I noticed the signs and stuff are gone and all the lights are off at night now. Was curious if they are going to demo it when they have Henley closed or if they are going to let it sit. Doesnt seem like something they would let rot since its in such a prime and visible location! Just curious!

| | | Originally it was going to be the site of a new hospital which was to be completed by 2013. I can't find any more recent news than that of 2009, when the local paper said that the plans for it have been shelved. I've not been in the area to know if there's been any activity or progress.

| | | I can't seem to find any news info about a demolition, but that doesn't mean it's not starting, or scheduled to start. I know that they'll be closing the Henley Bridge starting Jan 3rd. And sorry to pry, but what, or who is Basic?

| | | Yeah I have seen lights on and trucks every now and then. I think after the bridge closes on the 3rd it would be easier to not be seen, but I dont plan on trying it any time soon! Was mostly just curious what was going on with it! You would think they would want a hospital in South Knox, esp. with Henley Bridge closing for 3 years!

| | | I'm seriously dreading that bridge closing... As far as what will be happening to it I heard a rumor a while back that some investors were going to turn it into a shopping area mall like thing. Thats just scuttlebutt though. I don't know if there is any truth to it at all.
