Sudbury Neutrino Observatory

So my very lucky friend, Aaron, got guided tour of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory, aka. Snolab.

To get there you must first go through an active nickel mine, dodging the mining vehicles on your way in.

The whole thing is 2km underground.

This steel gate, guarded by an unknown hottie, marks the entrance to Snolab.

You are guided through the first of many decontamination chambers throughout the complex. Dust is a big issue, so you have to be blasted with air and vacuumed when moving form place to place.

Finally inside, you are treated to an awesome supervillain hideout.

This is where they are building the new detector. Upper view.

Lower view.

People standing around, taken from a higher platform.

Inside here lurks the original, famous detector itself. This is what people come to look at.

And, here it is.

Another angle.

This is part of what keeps it suspended.

Here is one of the actual detectors, each one costs about the same price as a new car.

The way out, then a nice, slow 2km elevator ride to the surface.

I'll add some video in a bit.

That place looks amazing!
How did your friend manage to get a tour of it? Do they do it on a regular basis?

In the end you will be laid to rest where you belong. Bathed in the flames for your hatred and your ignorance. Your the symbol of masculinity, but I can beat king kong.

SERIOUS!!!!!! nice shots.

Cavemen were once secluded to caves. Then they were released, they were released to explore the world!
