It's gone.

There is nothing left to explore. I feel sad for you people that never saw the abandoned inside of the the Thunderbird. It was a UE institution for many years.

It was outed on this very forum, and after that, the reports of trespassers increased over the years. The last 6 months of late, many people where arrested in that place.

UER, you should let more people into your web of secret submissions to the DB. This is a product of your secrecy. People do not have all the facts of a location and "wing it"

Free up the DB like it was in the old days, and forget about your stupid fears. I for one liked the DB in the old days. Honest critique of a location and honest entry points.

Look at your product.

Just curious, were the two old boats still tied up at the pier alongside the hotel?

Shame :\ I was really looking forward to at least seeing this place, even if it was just from the outside.

Hard to find places here in Oregon that haven't been commandeered by transients :\

Well, this one wasn't even in the DB (that I can see, anyway). Barely anything in the Portland area is.

That's because the furries cleaned it up.

This place has become a joke.

BTW, buy a poloshirt. Show your support, while "exploring"... Embroidered with your "screen name"....

How fucking stupid do you have to be to walk around with a "I trespass, and wear this shirt to prove it" bullshit is this place?

Urban Exploration is an old idea. I guess I grew up.

Entry points change. This may not be the "good old days" anymore. The DB is a tool that can be helpful yet easily abused. I'm not quite sure how the Thunderbird burning down is due to its lack of presence in the DB. If anything, more exposure generally equates to more vandalism, theft, arson, etc.

I guess just be glad you got in there before it was gone.

I guess I'm too new to the site to know what you're talking about. Why did they clean it up, other than to get rid of locations that were gone? It's pretty interesting to think that Portland might have had more participation on this site.

Don't know about others, but my adventures don't center around UER. I only recently started participating here. This site seems to be less about a location database, and more about connecting people, at least in the northwest. Maybe that's different than it used to be -- I don't know, because I wasn't here. But, it seems to do a great job at that, at least.

Weeeelll they were prolly having a furry, ritualistic sacrifice party and the guy who forgot the goat blood knocked a candle over.

Anywho it sucks the thing burned down.. I anxiously await hearing about the cause of the fire and who is responsible.

Maybe it was a fire department exercise? Fire departments often use abandoned buildings for this purpose. Otherwise, I have heard of many stories about firemen being arsonists.

Just a thought...

If it were a fire department exercise, they wouldn't still be searching for a cause.

but that's what THEY want you to think... also it's most likely burned because it was on here or at least became known here. locations tend to have a limited lifespan after appearing on uer. its an unfortunate fact that people suck and that we have our fair share of people here.

Voted most likely to fall from great hights...

There was not much to begin with in DB for Portland anyways.

I doubt that one exterior photo had any impact. Jantzen Beach is a popular shopping area right off the freeway and its right next to the main road off the free way. This place was fenced off and completely visible from the main road, so it was dead obvious to anyone driving by it that its abandoned.
