Every time I'd think about this place, a voice would pop into my head and say, "Do it, and you'll go to jail." Weird, because it was like the voice was right behind me. Still, I laughed it off and grabbed my gear.

But really, you should be cautious. On the way there, my nose started bleeding. That never happens. And I started seeing spots. In fact, the closer I got to the place, the worse it got. I had this uneasy feeling about the whole thing, but after rinsing my face off in a gas station bathroom, I decided to press on.

Anyway, so I'm standing near the hotel -- looking it over. And the voice comes back. "Do it, and you'll go to jail."
And at that point I'm dizzy, my vision is blurry, and I'm feeling a bit delirious. So I shout, "Who the fuck is going to take me to jail? There's no one here!"

That's when I notice the security guard sitting in a truck five feet to my right. And now I'm freaking out. How did he get there? Shouldn't I have heard the truck drive up? It's like he just materialized...

And that voice comes back. "I'm here, defecto. And I will take you to jail."

It was him! It was HIS voice.
Suddenly it's harder to breath. It feels like a great force is pushing against my lungs. I gasp for air as the the guard stares through the truck window. Those sunglasses... I want to run, but can't seem to move. Every thing goes numb. Time stops. Just me and his gaze for minutes, hours, days...

The guard then pulls his sunglasses down to reveal two hollow black cavities where his eyes should be. A piercing tone shoots through my brain. Pain everywhere. Vision goes white. And that's the last thing I remember...

And don't get me started on the bums...

^^^ Epic.

I went there last week, climbed under the bridge so we wouldnt be seen strolling onto the lot if there was security. At the time I had not seen this thread, but had been told about it from some friends.

We walked around the place, didn't see security, but enough lights were on to prevent us from going in in case an alarm would be set or something.

Awesome military ship and non-sea-worthy tug boat, went up close to them but didn't jump on, there is some razor wire going across the dock entrance from the hotel.

If you think that's crazy, I should tell you what happened next. I actually got inside the place!
I know, I know... I said I couldn't remember what happened after the security guard. Maybe I just WISH I couldn't remember... But what I'm about to tell you is something I've never told anyone.

After the incident with the security guard, I wake up in the middle of a park, at night. And I'm soaked. There's a light drizzle, and I've got no idea how long I've been laying there. After standing up, I find a piece of paper in my pocket: a trespass warning for the hotel with my signature... in blood. Fuck...

So with no idea where I am, I pick a direction and start walking. The town is dead. No cars, no barking dogs, nothing. Just the rain, and buzzing streetlights. Must be pretty early in the morning... Still, I find a gas station with the lights on. Figure I'll go in, find out where I am, and make a phone call. But as I'm about to open the door, this homeless guy comes around the corner and says, "Don't bother. The place is closed."
"Alright... Well, you know what time it is?"
"Yeah... Let me just check my watch. Oh wait... I don't fucking have one."
What a dick, I think. Then again, I guess a bum wouldn't need to know what time it is.
"Nevermind."

I begin to walk away, but he stops me.
"The fuck you want to go in there for anyway?"
At this point, I notice the bum's got an eye patch, and his beard is starting to dread.
"I guess I'm lost." I say.
"Well STAY lost!" He shouts.
So I walk away. Dude is definitely an asshole.

I decide to keep walking the direction I was already going, and I'm about a block away from the gas station when I feel something slam into the back of my skull.

I black out again.

When I come to, I can't move. I'm tied up, and laying on the ground. The room is dark, and the floor is wet.
"I knew it was you!" A voice says.
"You internet bastards think you can just come here whenever you like?!"
I see a figure step out from the shadows.
It's the bum.
He gets closer, and leans down. I can smell the stench of his breath. See the fine details of food particles in his yellowing beard...
"Well, welcome to the Thunderbird! I'll make your stay unforgettable!"
Then he begins laughing uncontrollably, and it feels like it's echoing from within my head as well as off the walls.
I watch in horror as he rips off his eye patch to reveal a dark empty cavity, just like the security guard... And he begins to pull something out of his head.

It's too dark to see what it is. I just know it's moving. With his other hand, he lifts my head, then brutally slams it into the floor. I scream out. And that's when he shoves whatever he pulled from his eye socket into my mouth. He holds my mouth shut, so I have no chance to bite and kill whatever is scraping around in there. Slender legs against my tongue... Feels like it's making it's way to the back of my throat -- like it's burrowing -- and I begin to gag. Then I feel a sharp sting. A pins and needles sensation sweeps over me, and I realize I can no longer writhe in my bindings, or even attempt to scream. I can only lay there as the bitter taste my own blood fills my mouth. This thing.... It's digging into my flesh. It's becoming a part of me...

Oh, Christ... I can't go on with this story. The horrors too gruesome to tell... Poison tipped razor wire, death lasers, guard dogs that shoot snakes from their mouths...

Heed my story and stay away from this place. Don't look at the pictures, or read the stories. Forget about this hotel. In fact, just forget about hotels in general.

And may all that is good in this world be on your side...

Me and my friends checked this place out over the weekend and it was amazing, most of the furniture and everything is still inside and once you're in you pretty much have access to most of the buildings. We didn't run into any squatters or guards so I have to say that my first big exploration went off without a hitch. Good stuff.

Well, guess what?

I was listening to my Police scanner the other night, and lo and behold. A security guard called the cops saying he could see flashlights inside the building. Sure enough, ten cops later, they arrested 8 people. They even brought a paddy wagon to take them all to jail so they didn't have to have 6 cop cars driving them to jail.

The next day I looked up all the booking photos online, and it looks like all the kids arrested in there where related and / or Russians.

I guess this place might be a little sketchy these days as far as exploration goes. Fer Christ's sake, maybe you want to tone down the fact that you are in there, and not use flash lights around windows, and such.

Just thought all you hooligans still eyeing this place for adventure should know. (I have already been in there, long time ago.)

Yeah, Id been before sans camera when I lived in the area and went back to take some shots when I saw it mentioned on here cause I figured it was the beginning of the end.

As I'm outside at about midnight scoping the scene I see 4-5 bouncing flashlights moving across the parking lot. Ok, so we got some geniuses running around outside along a lit street with flashlights on and then they went under the fence RIGHT ALONG THE BUSY LIT STREET!!! This would have been April 18th a wednesday.

So I came back another night had a great time watched an epic sunrise and checked in with the navy. heh

Well, guess what. The place is on fire as I type this. They just called a 4th alarm. I heard the alarm go out on my scanner around 3am...

Way to go, whoever thought it was a good idea to light the place on fire. Apparently it started in the ballroom.

I guess this is the end of this place.

Anyone know how extensive the fire was? Is this place even still around? I wouldn't mind checking it out if it is.

According to the Oregonian , it's almost completely destroyed.

I think I am going to go drive by it later this morning and take a look for my self. Maybe I'll take some pictures. I think that the Fire Dept. is still on scene mopping things up. I can smell the smoke from my house, which is only a few mile from there.

So they think it was lit by somebody inside then? Wow..

EDIT:
Ha. I just looked at this after I posted it next to my avatar of me holding a candle during an explore. Looks pretty incriminating, eh?

I don't think they know yet. I drove by there about an hour ago, and it's still on fire. There are still four or five trucks pouring water on it from aerial booms, and it's still billowing smoke.

Could not get close enough (or rather find anywhere to park) to get out and take pictures without making a long walk from the Washington side on the bridge. But what I saw from the bridge, 90% of the buildings have either been burned down or are burned beyond repair.

I forsee this being a demolition site in the near future.
