it sees like so much decay in only five years time. imagine it in thirty years were they not going to demo it.

But little they know, that it's so hard to find, one rich man in ten, with a satisfied mind

Does anyone know what demo prep work is? Its still an intriguing site, and its not totally coming down till next summer, as they do not wish to be doing work on it while school is in session.

Abatement and salvage for now. Demo in June (or so they say).

The theatre is in relatively good shape, really (cosmetically at least.. structurally, I recall... not so much). Likely saved by it not having any windows or easy water penetration spots.

Well.. am going to have to make a run at it in the near future. Can let a gem like that slip by, but just keep getting sidetracked on other locations.

The balcony of the theater was declared structurally unsound in 2002 or so. The rest of the building is solid as a rock except for where the 1980s addition connects - it's been shifting parallel to the original structure for a decade or so, not enough to compromise it but enough to make excuses for the "unsalvagability" of the building. The biggest problem they were having was with air quality mostly due to DPSs hap hazard "upgrades" over the years - ripping out entire stairwells lack of maintenance on core building systems (plumbing, mechanical, electrical, ventilation and elevators- oh god the elevators...)
