Christ, I can't imagine how many airstrips we left behind in those waters after '45. We should charter a boat to just cruise out to every one and leave our mark with a huge private kegger.

We didn't need a story. We didn't need a real world. We just had to keep walking. And we became the stories, we became the places. We were the lights, the deserts, the faraway worlds. We were you before you even existed.

i concur. cheap shitty beer, it is.
we need something to do on a completely empty isolated island.
i think it would be a lot more exciting if it still had buildings and the swimming pool!

After taking all the pics I would ever want, playing paintball on my own deserted AFB would be pretty sweet.

I've been itching to get out to the Aleutian Islands for years (far northern edge of WWII, when the Japanese invaded Alaska). The middle and south pacific would also be awesome. Apparently there are islands with abandoned planes still sitting on airstrips, and of course tons of shipwrecks that are popular with divers.

Turn off the internet and go play outside.

That looks like a good one. Wake Island is another good one and there's a couple of neat forts in the Philipines, most notably Fort Drum. Wikipedia has a great story about both forts. There is a LOT of stuff out there in the Pacific.
