| | | Tips on organizing a small group exploration < on 10/22/2010 4:43 AM >
| | | Hi folks! So, I'm new to the formalities of exploring in a group setting, and I've found a few destinations in Nashville that I'd love to check out with no luck of finding people who are willing to explore with me. Is there any UE etiquette associated with organizing an event on the forums?

| | | There's no real etiquette, although it might be difficult getting RSVPs from people who've never heard of you. Then again, in my hometown which was pretty dead, one guy started organising events and then suddenly they were coming out of the woodwork. Before you get too ambitious, it might be helpful to just have a casual meetup in a bar or restaurant, and maybe take a run at something that's convenient, before you go out on the road with relative strangers and have to start worrying about things like splitting gas, hotels, etc.

| | | It's good that you have a location (or two or three) in mind that you want to check out. Just PM some local folks and ask them if they are interested in hitting XXX or YYY site with you sometime. Can't hurt to try. [last edit 10/25/2010 7:11 PM by person - edited 1 times]

| | | oh oh, and i'm not attempting to plan a road-trip type outing, just something local to places that i'm dying to see (but i'm not exactly dying to run into the other type of human that really digs on uninhabited spaces alone). Plus I'd love to meet locals that are into this.. i don't believe i've ever met another with this fascination IRL.

| | | There aren't many people who are into it in my area either. As far as meeting up with anybody new and going into an abandoned place goes, I'd want to get to know them a little before going anywhere with them first, especially if I were a girl.
