|  | | | Located on the campus of the college I went to last year, I found this beautiful place! Larue D. Carter Memorial Hospital - huge insane asylum. After searching around the building for a way in, we found a door open in the back of the building. We found many interesting things including some former patients records
stating what treatments they had been given. Larue closed it's doors in 1996 and was demolished a few months after our exploration of it in 2009. My friends and I made a total of 3 trips to explore the hospital, these photos are from all 3 trips.

I mean, welcome to UER. On a college campus, I'm surprised that place wasn't even more destroyed. Was the tunnel just under the building, or did it go anywhere?

| | | | I'm a girl. And the tunnel was locked up when they closed in '96 and there was no way to get in. It still bothers me that I don't know where it led to.

| | | | Insane asylum? It was for "bad kids" for the most part, a part of the juvenile justice division I believe. The tunnel lead to the hospital, rumor was for years that it lead all the way to CSH. Obviously it didn't due to the river & the distance. The other story was the tunnel was full of old equipment from the hospital & Carter, that part I'm not sure of though. Unfortunately the guy that I knew that worked there died several years ago.

| | | | I know it was also an insane asylum; I later found out that my grandmother had a pretty long stay in there. That is unfortunate, I have so many unanswered questions about the building.

My new company, Indysplore! I have started a very aggressive recruiting program; I offer a 250 dollar sign on bonus. Our offices and training facilities are at Winona. In about a year, I plan to produce a zine, ala Jinx. Although, Indysplore's agents will not wear suits or cocktail dresses, we will do all of our objectives in hip waders and headlamps.
