US Pipe [Chattanooga, TN]

Hello to all!
Just came back from my 2day trip to Chattanooga. Some of you may already know this location, but here it is anyway. This is a former US Pipe plant. I am planning to re-visit a few weeks later for more indoor shots with a tripod. Thanks for looking!

Outside view of (Main?) building. Looks like they started ripping the structure apart, but something made them leave carcass alone.

Railroad (CSX) connection for this industrial park. There was also some sort of a factory on the right side of the tracks, which is just a concrete lot now.

Concrete lot before the main building.

View of main building and carcass.

Some electrical switches on side of a supporting column. Not sure if «440 Volts» is crane power or meant for something else.

These pipes are mounted all along the left side of the carcass.

Inside view. There are some left over remnants of glory of this place.

Looking up to ceiling vents and windows.

It seems that there exists a basement level directly below, as shown by the yellow guarded staircase. If you look closely, you can also notice a sinkhole from decay.

Alt. HDR shot. A pile of coal in the background? Or maybe cokes?

Outside view to the left (looking west).

Left overs of a control panel, detail.

Door leading to a demolished piece of a mens' water closet. Confirmed demolished by looking at tile leftovers outside of a window.

Detail looking at staircase going into basement level. Did not try to descent but may attempt next time.

Staircase leading to basement level, detail.

Looking outside west.

Control panel detail, top.

Control panel detail, bottom. Note US Pipe attached sheet.

There is a shoot further down, not sure what it was used for.

Additional notes
Security: there are stickers of a security firm on some windows and doors. Some doors are locked with a lock and chain. Not sure if an actual alarm system is installed (appears not). There was an empty pickup parked further down, but the gate was locked with a rusty chain and lock. Otherwise, not much to worry about on a Sunday morning.

Accessibility: easy. There are «Warning/no tresspassing» signs posted by CSX. You can avoid any interference by traveling Sunday morning when CSX operations are in a slumber.

Hazards: dust (soot), lots of it! I don't think the floor will cave in, but you can never be too sure. Does not seem to have any chemical spills.

Thanks for reading!

Nice pics, though you may want to leave out entry details, they are against the rules. Can't wait to see more!

Really nice shots! You did violate the rules concerning POE and detailed information. I suggest you read these -

Other than that this was a very good post. Keep up the good work!

Have wanted to see this myself, but the pickup truck parked there has deterred me in the past.

That hotel was epic, little fun at the end too.

When I was there, the gate was locked too, didn't know it was ever open..

The hotel thing turned out a bit unexpected, though I think there may be some logistical issues with that

tears.
When I lived in Chattanooga I remembered looking in there from the interstate and seeing the fire inside.

Some beautiful shots... love the pipes and control panels.

Just BTW, though... your "leftovers of a control panel" isn't much of a control panel - looks more like just 480V and lower (120/208?) distribution. Breakers and stuff. No controls. Just nitpicking from someone who used to work with these things. :p I dig the old ripped apart power equipment, though!

Thanks! Sorry, even though I mess around with engineering/electronics and pretty good at guessing how systems work, this one I kinda generalized.
