Hey everybody. I was finally able to check out an area that always interested me that also was only a 20minute drive from my house. anyways There was one building in a large (and still active) industrial park that looked interesting. So I and my friend set out to check it out and not get caught. Overall the place was very awesome and for you crazy free climbers would be like a massive jungle gym. Im still trying to find the history of the building and what was done inside when it was more than just a skeleton. And whoever said that Virginia sucks for UE needs to get out and look around.

And no I still dont like attachments.

I know theres a lot of pics but there was sooooo much to shoot.

Even the grounds had all sorts of interesting stuff.

A first glimpse inside.

On the roof.

Electrical devices above the Elevator shaft.

It was no longer in service so these were the name of the game.

Errr... Yeah.

There was a lot of junk in this area. And proof that it was also still partially in use.

A beautifully obstructed view.

O hai. This guy hung around for a while before moving along.

The whole Industrial park still had a fair amount of people going in and out during when we were there. Suprising even for a lazy sunday afternoon.

Thanks and yes we do all need to get together. Im trying to plan a trip to Richmond later this month (or next month) to see a few things with my cousin who lives there. If anyone is in Roanoke and wants to get together let me know.

Christ, looks like a goddamn playground. Could get lost in there for a couple of days!

Awesome find, awesome share!

We didn't need a story. We didn't need a real world. We just had to keep walking. And we became the stories, we became the places. We were the lights, the deserts, the faraway worlds. We were you before you even existed.

Nice coal power plant. Those are fun to climb around, and are really pretty at sunset.

Huge smokestacks, lots of girders with no floors- just a few features shared by many coal plants.

I've been in over twenty of them, and they're still one of my favorite types of industrial locations, because while they are all made with the same basic infrastructure, each abandoned one I find is somehow different.

Ah I see.. Thanks for the info guys that should give me a good bit of info to track down some info on it.

Also the rest of the Industrial park seemed to have several other buildings that were vacant so I may revisit them soon if I can figure out when the security patrols around.

Very nice work!

I live in one of the counties around Richmond. I'm originally from Roanoke. Hit me up when you visit.

NICE! These are the first photos I've seen from inside this plant.

If you have access to the old Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, they have very detailed maps of this place.
