New Bern, NC: Old House near Spring Garden

As the title states this is an old house near the Spring Garden area just outside of New Bern. No history is known of the place, however we are pretty sure someone was squatting in it at the time.

Unfortunately i didn't think to take a picture of it at the time, but in an upstairs bedroom there was a couch, and right in front of the couch there were a pair of bedroom shoes. The shoes had been placed there perfectly beside one another as if someone woke up, slide off their shoes and went about their business.

Be careful on this house, the owners will press charges for trespassing and they are not nice from what I hear. I was told this after the fact of photographing it, just got lucky and didnt get caught.

Thanks for the warning, we didn't get caught either. But they should really post some signs if they want to press charges. It seems that's a problem that this hobby seems to have. I don't think the owners of the property realize that this is a hobby as much as it is a documentation of soon to be unknown locations. Lets face it many of these places are either being reclaimed/re-purposed or torn down entirely. Although if i remember correctly when we went to this house i believe a sheriff rode by and didn't seem to give a crap, i didn't take any effort to hide the fact we were photographing it.

At the time I photographed it, there was signs posted on the trees around the property.

I didn't see any signs when we were there. Maybe new ownership, or previous is now deceased???
